Swakopmund, Easter Weekend, Coastal Town

Here are some pics from Swakopmund (check out the set at the website below). While formerly a busy port, it is now a small Namibian tourist town on the Atlantic Ocean. Arriving there felt like we were in a time/place warp. We drove through the Namib desert and found a German cityn with a beautiful beach -actually called "Palm Beach". Ate in restaurants, shopped for tupperware (the battle with the cockroaches in my flat has ended in my defeat), saw a movie in a REAL theatre, went sand boarding and lay on the beach! In short, fantastic. It was like a mini-break from Africa (which I LOVE but really, sometimes you need a break).
